Wednesday Wishlist- h&m and Versace!

Yup, this week's Wednesday Wishlist is specially selected from the Versace for H&M collection!!

When I was watching Made in Chelsea the other day and the advert came on I got soo excited! The stuff is amazing. I prefer it to the other designer and H&M collaborations because there's something so special about it; its not in the slightest bit plain.
On their own I'll admit some of the pieces don't look very wearable (especially the men's collection- check out this!), but they just need to be styled right. The skirts look so bright (see 4 below) but paired with a black top, tights and some killer heels and I think they're awesome. I love how glamorous a lot of it feels!

You can tell from the ones I've chosen that I'm attracted to the stuff I think is easier to pull off. I do think the other items are really cool, but most of the items above would actually be pretty wearable whilst still looking really special.
The leggings (1) and the leather jacket (3) are probably my favourite, I really really want them!!

I think looking at the collection the best word to describe it all is 'special', because its all so unique! I guess that's what you get from designer things, and that's why I love the H&M collaborations- you get the designer touch at a slightly-more-reasonable price and made somewhat casual as well.

What do you think of the collection? Grim, gorgeous, or is it a grower? It was the latter for me I think.

What's going on?

Helloo!

Just thought I'd do a little update post!
Basically I have broken my camera (I knew I would- I have an awful habit of dropping it when I've had too much to drink- this is why I took out accidental damage cover!), so there won't be any new OOTD posts for a while  :( However, I have lots saved on my computer from months ago that I didn't post! So I'll still be posting, they'll just be OOOTD's (old outfit of the day's).

I have my formative exam a week tomorrow...aahh! I know technically they don't mean anything, but I am worried. I do care how well I do, just so I don't have to have a major freak-out if I do appallingly. We had our anatomy formative last week, but it went pretty rubbish to be honest, but ah well. It'll just mean a Christmas break full of revising for the January summative exams!

I also have new glasses! It pained me to fork out over £130 for being able to see, but I wasn't able to read any of the lecture slides (kinda important) and I knew exactly which ones I wanted and unfortunately they weren't in the £25 range...When I went to collect them I forgot how round they were and wasn't sure, but I'm used to them now and I do like them, even if my friend does call me Harry Potter!! :P I probably will only wear them for lectures though.

Glasses: Missoni via. Specsavers

The other day I went for lunch with said friend, just to Wetherspoons, it was ever so casual, but every now and then I like to wear a nice semi-smart outfit even if we're only going high street or somewhere.
So here is my over-dressed outfit :)
Top: H&M
Cardigan: Mango

Skirt: Topshop
Bag: Debenhams
Shoes: River Island
Ring and necklace: Dorothy Perkins
Bracelet: Primark

I bought the skirt in the Topshop sale a few weeks ago. I'd gone in the week before and been eye-ing it up big time, but I couldn't really justify spending £30 on it when I'm on a student budget, so I was thrilled when it was in the sale.

I got very over-excited when I saw the new j2o drink- Glitter berry!! I think its for the festive season, and it does have a nice, spicy edge to it, a little like mulled wine, except not wine-y...if that makes sense.... The flavour is actually red grape, cherry and a bit of spice. Anyway, the most exciting bit of it was the glitter! It looks like thick, sparkly shower gel (except it tasted must better).

Have you tried the new j2o yet? What did you think?

Wednesday Wishlist (NEW!)

I've decided to have a new weekly post called 'Wednesday Wishlist'. Because if I can't afford all the beautiful things I want, I may as well share them with you!

1. Top of my list this week is this beautiful cape. It is just amazing!

2. These shorts are just perfect for the party season, without being too dressy. I think I may have to have them.

3.  It may be just my fascination with the human body (ooh, hang on, I'm sure that's a quote from my med school application...!) but I do love ribs and bones detail, for example this is one of my favourite tops. These tights may have been initially for Halloween but I would wear them all year round! My only wonder is...who would go out in public with the hip bones on show??!...
Oh, and by the way, if you see any tops with bones on, or I particularly want a skeleton jumper, please let me know :)

4. I've been wanting these leggings for a while now, and I think I will buy them. I just have soo many pairs of plain black leggings, I would like to have some that are a bit more interesting, like these, plus if you haven't noticed by now I do love a bit lot of leopard print!!

5. Another pair of shorts here. I'm really loving leather shorts, but the colour of these are so funky without being too ridiculously bright. And £19.99? Bargain!

What do you think? And what's top of your wishlist this Wednesday?

Much love,

"What's scary about cats??"

...was one response to my Halloween outfit...spoilsport! :P
In all fairness I'm actually a bit scared of cats...not a fan, sorry cat-lovers!!

My Halloween outfit isn't all that exciting, but I was running around like a loony because I wanted to be a corpse bride, but my white lacy dress is too short! I really didn't fancy flashing- now that really would be frightening!!

Ears: Topshop
Top: Topshop (actually my flatmate's- thank you, Rachel!!)
Leggings: H&M
Shoes: New Look
Bag: New Look
Necklace: Topshop
Contents of bottle: Vodka and Vimto haha ;)

Now this outfit's a bit better....how'd you like my inflatable pumpkin head?? ;)

Headgear: Wilkinsons
Top: New Look
Cardigan: Mango
Necklace: Topshop

I went home for the weekend and we had a little family Halloween party which consisted of take away, Krispy Kreme donuts and X Factor (I haven't watched it at all this year, but it wasn't very Halloweeny this year was it??! And most of the acts were rubbish. I get the feeling I've not been missing a lot.) Very indulgent, I'm sure you can tell.

Spooky!

This is the 'Spooky Citrus Gloss', but it's basically the same as GLAMOUR magazine's birthday Krispy Kreme- the glaze has glitter in it so it looks like lipgloss, which is my absolute dream as it mixes my greedy and my girly sides, win!

And we decorated our flat back at uni as well- this is George, the spider

Hope you all had a spooky Halloween :)

Geek Chic

So the other night was geek-themed and this is my outfit.....

The top I actually bought recently from River Island, I do plan on wearing it normally, probably with leggings because it quite long, but it seemed perfect for geeking it up! I bought the braces aaages ago from H&M because I knew I'd need them at some point ;)
The shorts are Dorothy Perkins and socks are ASOS.

What do you think of these maths nails as well?? Pretty shoddy job if I'm honest lol, but I was doing them a, in a rush and b, after a drink haha

The geek night turned into a proper geeky night though...instead of going out, I went to pre-drinks for a bit then stayed in and worked!! Shameful.

Freshers Week!

Heyy, sorry its been a while since I posted last!

Obviously I'm now at uni, and as promised here is a collection of my outfits from Freshers Week!

Moving in:
Because it's such a long way to travel and I wanted to move in fairly early in the day, we went up the night before and stayed in a Premier Inn which was very nice. This is my outfit for moving in- complete with my new Patrick Cox bag!! Remember I bought it ages ago and was saving it for uni? Well I finally got it out and here it is.
My trousers are new too, from Republic, as is my shirt. The brogues are River Island.

Watch: ASOS
Bracelet: British Heart Foundation

First night:
When we first arrived we had the welcome dinner, which we had to dress formally for, but afterwards was this 'disco'. So I opted for my Topshop dress, Topshop heels and H&M blazer which I planned to take off for the disco, but the country was having the weirdest heatwave ever and it was boiling in the marquee so I took it off pretty quickly. Check out my awesome name sticker too ;)

Ooh dear, I look a bit moody...sorry!

Matriculation:
This was our formal enrollment into the university at Durham Cathedral. Was really posh! We're one of the only colleges that doesn't wear gowns so we just had to dress formally. The dress is from Primark, but the only downside was it was a very windy day!!!! Cringe. I paired it with my charity shop blazer. Sorry you can't see it full-length, bad blogger. But I was just wearing my New Look loafers with it.

Pretty or what?? (not the people in the way)

Cavegirl:
The night after Matriculation was cavegirl themed. Decided to go all out and found this amazing fancy dress shop in Durham, where I bought the skirt for £4.50 and the jewellery was a couple of quid too. Oh and the massive bone of course. Not bad, eh?

Sorry for poor quality, had to crop it! :/

Bag: Topshop
Shoes: New Look
First lecture:

Yup, that's right, the 9am lectures began in the middle of freshers week. Needless to say I was sleeping through them as the freshers events were still going on and ending at 3am, so that'll be why I look less than fresh-faced!!

Shoes: New Look
Top: ASOS men
Cardigan: H&M

Trousers: Republic
Harmonica Necklace: COW vintage

College Colours night:
This is when we had to cover people in the colour of our college- red. I looked like I'd been murdered by the end of the night, had red aaaalll over my face!!!
Skirt: ASOS

See what I mean??!

Black Tie Boat Trip:
Well this event was supposed to be black tie, but it the end everyone just went kinda-formal. I wore my black AX Paris maxi dress. Again, no full-length pictures, sorry.

Earrings: New Look

View from the boat

Random night out:
I gotta apologise for the rubbishness of these photos...I bought my tripod with me so why I don't take proper photos with me before I go out I don't know!!! Anyway I've cropped these pictures as best as possible lol. My dress is from Republic, my bag is New Look and I wore it with my Miss Selfridge shoes that I blogged about here.
I'm wearing my new necklace though, its from Topshop and I love it; I think its just so simple, plus, it reminds me of the one Finn gave Rachel <3 (#gleek !)

After a drink I tend to pull stupid faces...

Biiirrthhday!!!
Yup, was my birthday during freshers! :) My flatmates were so funny, they got me this card with shoes on the front, cos they already know me so well ;) and cake. And they attached a balloon to my door, and let's be honest, it does look a lot like me lol.

Me cutting my cake
Are you ready to see what I'm most proud of though?...
I couldn't find a shoe rack I liked anywhere at home and pretty soon after arriving here it became really clear I needed one desperately. So we took a nice trip to Wilkinsons and I found one...that you had to assemble yourself. I was so daunted, I thought I really needed a man to do it for me (Sorry girls, I hate to have that attitude, but do I look like I can do DIY??!). Anyway, I managed it!!! :D I used a key instead of a screwdriver as well ;)
WTF???!

TADA!!

Getting my tripod all set now- I'm determined to put up better pictures next time!! Apologies again.

Don't forget, you can follow me on Twitter here :)

OOTD: Free hugs (and my new hi-tops!)

Semi-spur of the moment lust and I bought these hi-tops. I'm obsessed now though, I really love them! I know they're not to everyone's taste but even so they're soo funky and comfy! Major downside I've noticed though? People think I'm 15. I went into Spar for some wine in these and my Mini Mouse top and didn't just get asked for ID- he even asked me to confirm my date of birth!! So gutted. And I know the top can't have helped, but I remember not getting ID'd in Sainsbury's when I wore it. But that time I put it down to having a really old face. Just can't win!

I love this top too, bought it a while ago from Topman. I really like wearing baggy men's vests with a bandeau top underneath.

Top: Topman
Hoody: Charlotte & Co
Jeggings: H&M
Hi-tops: Sports Direct

Ring: Charity Shop
Necklace: Market shop
Bracelet: M&Co Kids

Bought the Barry M Instant Nail Effects in white, and decided to use it on a bright pink base coat. The result looked like "Eton mess on your nails" according to my friend haha! Then again, this is the friend who said I should be in a Justin Bieber video when she saw my hi-tops!! <3 (I unashamedly love a bit of Bieber though so its cool ;))
