Nailed it!

As previously mentioned, with a 'bare below the elbow' policy to comply with, nail varnish to work is a big no-no. So on my days off I really make the most of it. Thanks to Gem Fatale's amazing 'Wah-inspired nails' tutorial, I have been sporting leopard print nails!! Absolute genius idea with the liquid eyeliner.

Here are my nails:

Barry M 'Blueberry Ice Cream'; Barry M 'Berry Ice Cream'

And I did my little sisters too:

Barry M 'Strawberry Ice Cream'; Barry M 'Blueberry Icecream'; Barry M 'Mint Green'

And then using the same liquid eyeliner idea, I did these nails last night:

Barry M 'Mint Green'; Barry M 'Blueberry Ice Cream'; Nails inc. 'In Style Candy'

They were a liiiittle bit inspired by Katy Perry's nails in her Last Friday Night video (see below, sorry for quality) but then they didn't look quite right because the colours weren't that bright, so I added blue and the outline.

Often I think my nails would look better if I had false ones, but not only would I not be able to wear them to work, they seem quite expensive..hmm...

I'm really into my nail art (despite being a real ammature!) so stay tuned for more posts on my nails! :)

New buys!

Helloo,

Ok definitely need to start saving now...hoping to go away to Barcelona and Prague and somewhere else in the UK too but I'm just addicted to shopping!! Definitely gotta start doing extra shifts...

Anyway, totally worth it, cos check out my new buys!!

Shoes: Topshop

I plan to wear these with cute white socks on a night out. I know that can make an outfit too slutty though so I'm thinking with just pretty dresses to keep it cool, not like an Ann Summers school girl outfit..! I know the heel looks super high on these but somehow I have mastered the art of walking in sky-high heels, so long as they have a strap across, and T-Bars are perfect. I love Topshop shoes, thank god these were in the sale! They're definitely my new babies <3

Dress: Topshop

Bought at the same time as my shoes- yes I love to max out that card!! I adore the print on this dress- feels sort of vintagey because its so unique. It's actually a lot more sheer than the website shows, so I've got a slip to go underneath it. Will have to show you when I wear it, because it makes the dress look a lot less sort-of frumpy than it may appear.

Watch: ASOS

I fancied a new posh watch for a while, and was looking at this Marc Jacobs one, but when I tried in on in Selfridges, I wasn't sold. Anyway, I also found this one, and really loved it, I just hadn't got round to buying it. Then at the airport in Zante the girl in front of me had it on and I was like "That's it, I'm getting it as soon as I'm home!", and by chance it was reduced- woop!! ASOS is being slow with delivery though so I haven't actually tried it on yet...hope it looks ok!! I love the hearts on it, think it looks so cute.

Ooh guys, I should have mentioned before, here's my Twitter!! I'll tweet when I've posted so you'll never miss out ;) haha

Now time to organise some extra shifts and selling on eBay...definitely need the money now...!

Wish the sky was as bright as this top!

Here's today's outfit; just went shopping!

Top: West One
Shorts: Dorothy Perkins
Brogues: Primark

The top was in the sale, got a cobalt blue one as well, though I'm still a bit stuck on what exactly to wear it with- any denim would feel like too much blue...hmm, will have to have a dig around in my wardrobe...any suggestions??

I feel like I'm always apologising for quality of the photos, and the blurry edges on this one is because my camera is broken, booo! :( I dropped it ages ago and all of a sudden its started not focusing properly. Will have to pop into the Sony shop, so until its fixed I apologise for any rubbish phone-camera photos! :/

Geia sas!!

Ooh sorry for the big gap between posts!!! Obviously I went away for a week, intended to post before I left but couldn't find the time, and then since I came back I've just been working.

But now I can share with you my holiday snaps!

Zante was amazing, we basically just went out for cocktails every night and chilled out during the day, which was really nice. But everything's really casual over there so going out in shorts and flip flops felt a bit weird but was actually pretty cool!

Ok so my flight outfit was a maxi dress. I'd never flown before and was really nervous but actually I love flying now.

I must have tried on so many maxi dresses and I've finally discovered the secret to not looking too busty and pregnant...waistbands! I've just found the most flattering style is when they come in at the waist, which is something I tend to go for with most clothes anyway, like I'll put a belt on practically any outfit, but I just know with maxi dresses I'll look dreadful if I don't pick it carefully.

Missguided

Flip flops: TK Maxx

And here are some other outfits from the trip:

This is what I wore for the first evening. Apologies for mirror photo, my friend was too busy sunbathing (can't blame her) and I didn't think to bring my tripod! Similar shirt-and-shorts combination to come.

Top: MButterfly

Shorts: Dorothy Perkins

On the balcony. I really wish I'd put a belt on with this outfit, I usually do!

Windswept!

Top:
H&M

Skirt: H&M

Sandals: Primark

Last night! :( I love this shirt. Its quite obviously just a checked shirt cut up a bit to make it cropped, sleeveless and tie-able, but I do love it. On the last night we went out then took a trip to the beach to watch the sun rise...only went for a paddle initially but somehow came back drenched, gutted! I think my top's survived...

Top: COW Vintage Store

Shorts: New Look

Sandals: Primark

And this is the gorgeous sunrise on our last morning- taken whilst absolutely soaked and covered in sand from our swim!!

Ready to go out! The heels were a biiig mistake in the end...turns out the roads in Zante are not like those in Birmingham, whoops! But I love this playsuit. In fact, I love Missguided, and I love prints. The two are a bit of a cheeky obsession of mine, I go mad for pretty much anything patterned, and Missguided are fab I think, mostly because of their reasonable pricing. Apologies for my hair and lack of make up here, this photo was taken before I was properly ready!

And here I am, cocktail in hand. Nail polish is Barry M Berry Ice Cream. I went a bit mad for the Barry M pastille colour range recently, I'm wearing the Blueberry Ice Cream shade in other photos.

Shoes: Next

Aaannd finally, this is my absolute favourite outfit, really think I'm nailing the neon colours for S/S 11 here...! ;)

Will post again soon, I promise!!

Ps: Ooh, thank you so much for the comments! I have kept trying to reply on there but it won't let me?? Also won't let me comment on your own blogs :( So sorry and thank you :)

Pps. The title means 'Hello' in Greek...I didn't actually learn much Greek to be honest, but I tried..!

Monday 6 June 2011

You got the love...

Here's my outfit for last night! I was just meeting a friend at the pub.

Top: ASOS
Leggings: H&M
Shoe boots: ASOS
Jacket: Topshop
Bag: ASOS

When ASOS posted this top on Facebook I don't know why but I absolutely loved it, had to have it! I wasn't keen on leather leggings at first, and I'm by no means a dainty thing so I never thought I'd suit them. These leggings are just sort of wetlook, and I love them because of it. I think wetlook stuff looks good on a lot of people, but I had to be cautious with my thighs... I keep meaning to buy some more now, I wear them a fair bit!

Here are my nails too:

I went out on Saturday night and wore my new babies:

(Next) (Apologies for photo, was taken in the club...)

I am DEFINITELY a shoe girl. And these are my new faves. I wanted to match my nails so I used a Next mink sort of colour, but since I was going out I decided to jazz it up a bit with a glitter coat from Claire's Accessories. It also had bits of blue glitter in to match my blue dress.

The necklace is my new one from mynamenecklace.co.uk :

I think they're doing free delivery at the minute!

First post!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog :)

My two loves in life are medicine and fashion- hence the blog title 'Style Anatomy'!

Working as a Healthcare Assistant, this is my uniform: (Apologies for bad quality photo, is just an old photo from my phone!)

ie. very boring. And since we must abide by the 'bare below the elbows' policy, I can't even jazz it up with jewellery or nail varnish! I think it's actually since beginning my work that I've become more aware of my clothes and got into fashion, because basically, I like to make the most of it when I can wear my own stuff and not a boring uniform!!

I'm really rubbish at saving because I love shopping too much, and since I enjoy showing off my new buys, I thought why not start a fashion blog??

I plan to post as often as possible; my Outfit Of The Day or whatever I've bought recently, what I want, etc..

I'm going to Zante on Thursday with my friend, so will try post lots before I go, and then expect lots of holiday snaps afterwards :) Hopefully I won't have horrible lobster-like sunburn that will clash with my outfits...I'm fair skinned so will definitely be packing the SPF 30 and 50!!
